Cooper LaserSonics - Santa Clara, CA.
Responsible for the design of an extremely high precision laser wavemeter, and construction of an operational engineering prototype. Project Engineer for scientific pulsed dye laser products.
1981 - 1983 LASER ENGINEER
Molectron Corporation - Sunnyvale, CA.
Responsible for initial design and all programming of a microprocessor controlled treatment report generator for the Molectron Model 8000 medical YAG laser. Responsible for engineering of the Molectron TUV dye laser wavelength extension accessory. (Molectron Corp. was acquired by Cooper LaserSonics in 1983.)

Analysis of optical properties of thin film materials. Responsible for a successfully funded proposal to the U.S. Air Force for development of an advanced military laser system. Formulated detailed design and did all microprocessor programming for a high-resolution image digitizing and processing system for use in a military pattern recognition project.
1977 - 1978 SENIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Columbia University - Columbia Radiation Laboratory, New York, NY.
Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship. Basic research in optical pumping of high density alkali metal vapors. Coauthored five publications. Participated in discovery of two new physical phenomena, both reported in Physical Review Letters.
1973 - 1977 ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PHYSICS
University of Texas at Dallas, TX.
Taught six different graduate courses in quantum electronics and related fields. Research on multiphoton absorption of alkalis and laser plasma diagnostics. Supervised Ph.D. dissertation research.
1972 - 1973 RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Ultrahigh-resolution laser spectroscopy in research group headed by Prof. Arthur L. Schawlow (Nobel Laureate 1981) and Prof. Theodor W. Hänsch (Nobel Laureate 2005). Worked on precision Rydberg constant measurement, reported in Physical Review Letters.
